Sculpture into Print

Project encompassing architectural design and 3D work, working collaboratively and independently to develop different ideas. Based on buildings by Frank Gehry and the maquettes made in class, students in Y8 are now making collagraph prints. They are learning different methods to develop ideas and create concepts using unusual materials.

Year 8 have been studying structures and architecture.  Students designed their own buildings, developing their initial ideas from maquettes they made at the beginning of the project and research into architects Herzog and DeMeuron, Frank Gehry and Frank Lloyd-Wright.  Students used these designs to produce collaged boards using string which could then be printed.
